[ WHY A DNS? ]

Stop the request
before it starts.

DNS is one of the first steps your device takes before connecting to a website, ad server, tracker, gambling service, or malicious domain. Filtering there means unwanted connections can be stopped before the page or app finishes reaching them.

01

Blocks beyond the browser.

DNS filtering can cover apps, games, smart devices, and browsers instead of depending only on a browser extension.

02

One policy. Multiple devices.

Your Luls DNS profile carries the rules, so the same categories and custom blocks can follow the devices assigned to it.

03

Stops unwanted connections early.

If a domain is blocked, Luls DNS can refuse the lookup before your device makes the normal connection to that destination.

04

Less software to manage.

There is no need to maintain a separate ad-block list inside every browser. The policy lives at the DNS layer.

05

Encrypted DNS.

Luls DNS supports encrypted DNS transport so lookups between your device and our DNS service do not have to travel as plain DNS requests.

06

Your categories. Your rules.

Ads, trackers, gambling, mature content, malware, and custom allow/block rules can be managed from your protection profile.

Protection that works upstream

How it works

Your device asks us where to connect. We filter the answer.

Privacy by design

Your DNS should not become somebody else's browsing database.

Luls DNS is being designed to collect only what is required to operate accounts, enforce filtering policies, prevent abuse and provide the statistics customers choose to use.

Minimal retentionAvoid unnecessary long-term query history.
Private profilesUse anonymous device/profile identifiers instead of emails in DNS configuration.
Your controlsDetailed query logging can be disabled as the platform matures.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Does Luls DNS block every ad?

No DNS filter can block every ad. Ads served from the same domain as the content you want to view may not be separable at the DNS layer.

Can it block mature content?

It can block known adult and mature-content domains. DNS cannot reliably identify the rating of individual content hosted alongside other content on the same domain.

Does all of my internet traffic pass through Luls DNS?

No. DNS requests are handled by the DNS service, but ordinary web traffic continues to the website or service you are visiting. A future device client may use local VPN functionality to enforce DNS settings without becoming a traditional full-tunnel VPN.

Can I protect my whole house?

Yes. Compatible routers can be configured to use Luls DNS so TVs, consoles and other devices inherit household protection.

Can family members have different rules?

Yes. Paid family plans are designed around separate profiles, schedules and device assignments.
